It's like a three dimansional touchpad; it's completely silent. Using it after using a mouse for an hour almost relaxes my hand so though it is not my rimary input device, it's a great aid to have standing by. It can be used in ways that a mouse cannot be, like when you are lying down for whatever reason. And apart from the practical uses, I just love the way it looks. Great if you have too little space on your desk to comfortably move your mouse around.
